Austin Astronomical Society - March General Assembly Meeting

On the 2nd Friday of every month (with the exception of this month, second Wednesday) the members of the Austin Astronomical Society gather on the UT Campus for their general meeting and presentations.

Guest Presenter - Tex Toler

Tex will share his experience with advocating for and promoting the Dark Night Sky initiative has been from the municipality perspective, and the cooperative efforts between cities and within a region.

Terry “Tex” Toler, Main Street Manager and Historic Preservation Officer for the City of Llano will present his insight on the DNS initiative from the small town and rural politics perspective, from maneuvering an ordinance through city councils and county commissioners, but also building consensus and finding compromise in a community mentality of “less government interference” and/or regulations.
